Cómo fortalecer los dientes

Mantener una buena salud bucal, es de gran importancia para todas las personas ya que, junto a los ojos, los dientes constituyen nuestra introducción al mundo, además, también se encuentran relacionados con las diferentes funciones del organismo como la masticación y la deglución, y con funciones sociales como la voz y la sonrisa, es por esto que es esencial conservar siempre una buena higiene bucal. Los dientes representan nuestra carta de presentación al mundo, es por esto que es importante cuidarlos y mantener una adecuada higiene. Uno de los principales cuidados que se le debe dar a los dientes es el de proteger y reforzar el esmalte, el cual los protege de las bacterias a las que estas expuestos diariamente y que pueden ser causantes de caries.

Además de aplicar una limpieza adecuada a los dientes después de cada comida, como se ha inculcado durante años, es importante también aplicar otras medidas que pueden ayudar a fortalecer el esmalte y a evitar su deterioro. A continuación, se explicará algunas de estas medidas a ser tomadas en cuenta.

Trucos para fortalecer la dentadura

  • Lavarse los dientes inmediatamente después de haber consumido azúcar, cítricos o bebidas gaseosas ya que este tipo de alimentos atacan directamente el esmalte debilitándolo y haciéndolo vulnerable a las caries.
  • Se sugiere que el cepillado se realice en forma suave y con movimientos cortos en forma ascendente y descendente, es decir, de arriba abajo. Se recomienda la utilización de un cepillo de cerdas suaves para que no se lastime la encía.
  • El uso del hilo dental todos los días permitirá la remoción total de los residuos de comida que pudieran quedar acumulados, luego de esto se puede aplicar un enjuague bucal.
  • Es conveniente, realizar periódicamente aplicaciones de flúor. Esto contribuirá a fortalecer los dientes y evitará el desgaste. En el mercado existen productos que contienen flúor que se pueden adquirir fácilmente y utilizar en casa.
  • La alimentación también juega un papel sumamente importante para el cuidado tanto de los dientes como para el cuerpo en general. En este caso, se sugieren alimentos ricos en calcio, fosforo y vitamina C y D, los cuales brindarán una protección adicional al esmalte dental.
  • Otro aspecto importante es tener una buena hidratación, tomar la cantidad de agua adecuada, además de brindar muchos beneficios a la salud en general, contribuirá a la mayor producción de saliva la cual contribuye a la limpieza de la boca eliminando las bacterias que puedan quedar pegadas en los dientes.
  • Una de las medidas a tomar en cuenta y que no se puede dejar de lado, es la visita periódica al dentista. Éste, además de determinar si existe alguna carie, realizará limpiezas profundas en las que se podrá eliminar el sarro y la placa acumulada. Alimentación para un esmalte fuerte y duradero

Otra manera de fortalecer el esmalte dental es a través de la alimentación, es por esto que a continuación se dará una serie de alimentos que se pueden agregar a la dieta diaria para lograr que el esmalte adquiera más fortaleza y durabilidad.

  • Lácteos: estos productos son reconocidos por contener caseína, lo cual contribuye al fortalecimiento de los huesos y los dientes, además de reparar el esmalte. Por esta razón se recomienda la ingesta diaria de queso o leche para mantener las cantidades adecuadas de calcio en el organismo.
  • Fibra: este componente vegetal se puede encontrar en vegetales como las espinacas, brócoli, lechuga y contribuye a la mayor producción de saliva, lo que hace que los dientes se vayan limpiando además de neutralizar el ácido de algunos alimentos.
  • Pescados: ricos en omega – 3 y vitamina D, contribuyen a la absorción del calcio por parte del organismo para que éste pueda fortalecer los dientes y protegerlo.
  • Verduras crudas y frutas: para poder ingerir este tipo de alimentos es esencial masticarlos bastante, esto ayuda a eliminar las bacterias y la placa dental.
  • Té verde o negro: estas potentes infusiones previenen que la placa se incruste en los dientes debido a sus poderosos antioxidantes. Además, que contribuye al fortalecimiento del esmalte dental y de las encías.
  • Chocolate negro: gracias a su gran cantidad de taninos previene la inflamación de la encía.

Remedios caseros para dientes fuertes y sanos

Otro mecanismo para fortalecer los dientes es la utilización de remedios caseros, los cuales siempre serán una opción muy recomendada por nuestras abuelas para ayudarnos a mantener una dentadura impecable.

Entre estos se pueden mencionar el uso de bicarbonato de sodio junto a la crema dental, el cual permitirá una limpieza profunda y ayudará a blanquear los dientes. El aloe vera o sábila y la cúrcuma que además contribuirá a evitar la sensibilidad en la encía y el aceite de mostaza que es uno de los remedios caseros más eficaces y recomendados para fortalecer el esmalte dental.
